About Me: This Kota Doriya Saree has India Handloom Brand certification, issued by DC Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. This certification is only given to those Handloom products which comply with the highest quality standards issued by Ministry of Textiles. In entire India, only 177 weavers have this certification with them.

This Saree has been weaved by Waris Hussain, based in Kaithoon, Kota district, Rajasthan.

Pure Zari has been used in this saree to weave the border, pallu and the patterns (butta or butties). The Zari used is made from pure silver and gold plating is done on it for the golden color loved by generations. Around 40% of the value of this saree can be recovered by selling the Zari even after decades.

Kota Doria, also called Kota Masuriya or Kota Doriya, sarees are woven on a pit loom and have square check like patterns on them, which are called Khats. Khats ensure that these sarees are perfect for the Indian weather as they give breathability to these sarees. You will find that these sarees are weaved very finely and weigh very less.

Cotton used in this saree gies it strength, while the Pure Silk used gives it transparency, finesse and a light weight.

They get their name from the city of their origin, Kota and 'Doria' means thread. Thus, standing for Threads of Kota.

Please note that a slight irregularity in design and color is the sign of a handwoven piece.
